Among these are murmurs or non-physiological erythremias, cardial and pericardial disease, vasculitis, and phlebitis.
Diagnostic tools: echocardiogram, ECG, ultrasound, biopsies.
   
Neurological Disorders
  Among these are acute and chronic neurological disorders: EPM, WNV, peripheral neuropathies.
Diagnostic tools: Neurological disorders examination, spinal taps (standing L/S or anesthetized A/O taps).
   
Gastrointestinal Disorders
  Among these are chronic colic, chronic or acute weight loss, chronic diarrhea, and chronic anorexia.
Diagnostic tools: Gastroscopy, abdominal ultrasound, abdominocentesis, examination per rectum, rectal biopsy, glucose absorption test, esophagoscopy for choking and post-choking cases.
   
Respiratory Disorders
  • Among these are upper airway diseases: laryngeal paralysis (laryngeal hemiplegia), dorsal displacement of the soft palate, epiglottic diseases, and guttural pouch diseases.
Diagnostic tools: upper airway endoscopy, guttural pouch endoscopy, sinus centesis.

• In addition, inflammatory airway disease (IAD), recurrent airway obstruction (RAO or heaves), EIPH, pneumonia, and pleural diseases.
Diagnostic tools: bronchoscopy, BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage), TTW (transtracheal wash), thoracic ultrasound, thoracocentesis.
   
Hepatic Disorders
  Among these are acute and chronic liver disease, and cholelithiasis.
Diagnostic tools: ultrasound and ultrasound-guided biopsy.
   
Renal Disorders
  Among these are acute and chronic renal failure, urinary bladder disease, and urinary calculi.

Musculoskeletal Condition
 

We provide assessment by ultrasound of ligaments, tendons, and joints. We consult on laminitis consulting. We also provide assessment and diagnosis of equine polysaccharide storage myopathies and of equine lower motor neuron disease.
